Can this be used for events?
The service was designed to be used on a more continual basis and while we won't prevent you from using it, we generally don't recommend doing so for events.
If you do choose to use the app there are several things you may want to keep in mind:
- You will need to have a great Internet connection or there could be a lag in delivering texts.
- This isn't a CRM program, and isn't designed to export phone numbers or contact information.
- If you are using an iPad, it will need to be a newer model that is running the latest version of iOS.
- Default settings will remove names from the list after 5 hours. You'll need to change it to a longer time frame if you expect to have people on the list for more than 5 hours.
- You would need separate subscriptions to track separate waitlists.
It is pretty simple to use and you can get a basic free account to see how the core functions work. Then before the event you would upgrade to get access to unlimited usage and more customization. You can see more info on customizing options here. You can upgrade and downgrade at www.waitlist.me, on the Account page, and be sure you choose the monthly (instead of annual) option. We also suggest setting the subscription to downgrade as soon as you upgrade so that you don't forget later and wind up being billed on a recurring basis. You'll continue to have access to all of the customized features for 30 days from the date of payment.
