How do I block off reservation dates/times?

Pro & Platinum subscribers have the option to block off entire days to restrict when guests join your waitlist, make reservations or both. You'll find the setting options on the website under Account > Settings > Add Yourself > Scheduling & Availability > Blackout Dates.

Simply choose a date from the calendar menu, then choose whether to limit reservations but not waitlist entries ('No Reservations'), limit waitlist and reservation requests from the Widget ('No Widget Display') or prevent any advance reservations from being scheduled on that day ('Closed').

Currently the service does not have the inventory-style table/resource management that would allow you to specify the amount of reservations you would accept for each party size or the ability to block of partial dates, although we will likely build these features in the future. If you need to block off part of a day (for example, you're closing early for Christmas Eve), you can use the Add Yourself scheduling rules as a sort of work-around.  It's important to note that the scheduling rules apply strictly to the Add Yourself Web Widget; the app will show a pop up warning if your staff tries to schedule over the limit, but it won't prevent them from over-riding the rules. So you could set up limits on the number of reservations the widget will accept (based either on number of people or number of groups). Then when you need to block off only a portion of the day, you could enter reservations equivalent to the amount of time/space you need to block off on the days in question. For instance if you need to block of the entire restaurant from 6 p.m. to closing on a Tuesday, you would enter a reservation that would meet the max scheduling limit for each time block you have set up. If your scheduling limit was set to 50 people/hour then you would do one reservation for 50 people at 6 pm, one reservation for 50 at 7 pm, etc. Any guests trying to book a reservation during that time would see a message indicating that the time they selected is not available and ask them to choose a different time instead.
